Rhet Happel, D.O.
Medical Director
Dr. Rhet Happel is the Medical Director of Happel Medical Spa, where he guides the practice using a blend of clinical expertise, advanced aesthetic training, and a patient-first philosophy. He is a board-certified family medicine physician through the American Board of Family Medicine and also holds board certification in aesthetics through the American Academy of Procedural Medicine. With a strong clinical foundation and specialized training in modern aesthetic techniques, Dr. Happel brings a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to every aspect of patient care.
Dr. Happel earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he developed a deep appreciation for comprehensive, patient-centered care. He completed his residency within the UPMC system, one of the region’s most respected healthcare networks, based at UPMC Washington. Training in the South Hills and surrounding areas allowed him to build a meaningful connection with the local community and a strong understanding of the needs, expectations, and values of the patients he now serves.
His passion for aesthetics grew from recognizing the significant role confidence plays in overall well-being. He pursued advanced aesthetic training and board certification to integrate his medical expertise with a modern, cosmetic-focused skill set. Dr. Happel believes in natural, balanced outcomes and emphasizes treatments tailored to each patient’s unique features and long-term goals.
As Medical Director, Dr. Happel oversees all clinical protocols and works closely with his team to ensure that every treatment is delivered with safety, precision, and a personalized touch. He is committed to elevating the standard of aesthetic care in the region by combining medical professionalism with the artistry of contemporary aesthetic medicine.
Jennifer Hengen, R.N.
Registered Nurse and Certified Laser Technician
Jennifer brings more than 10 years of dermatology-focused experience to Happel Medical Spa. She received her nursing degree from the University of South Dakota in 2011 and has since developed extensive clinical expertise in skin health, aesthetic procedures, and energy-based treatment technologies.
Her background in dermatology allows her to perform laser hair removal with exceptional attention to safety, treatment planning, and long-term results. Jennifer is passionate about patient education, and she enjoys discussing the science behind skincare, lasers, and evidence-based aesthetic practices.
Originally from South Dakota, Jennifer relocated to the Pittsburgh area in 2018 with her husband, daughter, and son. She loves “talking shop” about anything skin-health related and is dedicated to ongoing training to stay current with the latest aesthetic techniques and technologies.
Bailey Hannan, L.E.
Licensed Esthetician
Bailey is a Licensed Esthetician specializing in clinical skin health, corrective facials, and hydrodermabrasion at Happel Medical Spa. Licensed since 2023, she blends evidence-based treatments with a holistic understanding of skin wellness.
Known for her calm, educational approach, Bailey ensures patients feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their skin health journey. She creates personalized treatment plans designed to deliver meaningful, long-term results.
